Getting furniture can be pretty expensive. Getting them for a budget may seem impossible, but fortunately, it’s not as difficult as you think. In our article, we’ve run through the many ways you can get some great pieces while not breaking bank. So, what’re you waiting for? Read ahead.
Thrift stores are the best place to be if you’re looking to save the most cash. You’ll find pieces that look great, but have been discarded for the slightest of reasons. Moreover, the furniture in thrift stores aren’t that bad as the stores take care of them. Let’s not forget that you can get some pretty antique stuff, which you might be a fan of.
Yard sales are great. However, they’re not as common as they used to be. If you happen to find one, you can get pieces for lower than what a thrift store offers. You’ll have to look online though, such as on Facebook as people advertise their sales here. The beauty of yard sales is that you can bargain, reducing prices even more.
You may not want something used. This is not surprising as who knows what the previous owners did with their pieces. If you want something new, but don’t want to spend much, you’ll be patient. Retailers love offering discounts during sales, so you’ll get things for a great price. The thing is, you might really have to be patient. Regular sales may only get you 10-20% off which is not enough. If you wait for Black Friday, you’ll have struck gold as discounts can go for 70%, or even more.
Friends and Family
If you have friends and family, why shouldn’t you make use of them? Hopefully, they have a couple of furniture pieces sitting in their garage. They’re not doing anything with them and before they’re sold, you could try and get them for free. Surely, they’ll consider, so think about this. You could even try and get something nice, which is not stored away, but this might be hard to do.
When you head to the store, don’t be afraid to speak to the manager. Furniture in the storeroom may be damaged. Regular people may not want to buy them, but you do. They’ll go for a huge discount, which is what we want and as you can imagine, the more dented it is, the cheaper it’ll be.
What About Outdoor Furniture?
Without a doubt, outdoor furniture is cheaper than furniture for the indoors. The pieces are more durable too, as they’re made to withstand the elements. You could even get things like free standing hammocks which look great and are cheaper than stools, chairs, cushions.
Trends change. Furniture manufacturers know this, which is why pieces from years ago aren’t sold anymore. They don’t look as great, and are sold for much cheaper when compared to their newer pieces. If you head to a furniture store, you’ll realize how cheap they are.
So, which of the above points will you be utilizing? The more of them you keep in mind, the cheaper your bill would be!
